As we embark on yet another Daniel Fast together, we are anticipating the miraculous! God is up to something, and as we seek HIS face through prayer and fasting, we are confident that we will see God move in ways we have yet to imagine. "Call to me, and I will tell you GREAT and MIGHTY things that you do not know!" (Jeremiah 33:3) We anticipate GREAT reports as to how God is moving in your life as you walk through this fast! We also expect that some will struggle with this. So, this blog is to help encourage one another! Feel free to leave comments, prayer needs, recipes you find helpful, and share with us (failures and successes) through this journey!
Remember: Prayer CONNECTS you to God... fasting DISCONNECTS you from the world! Pastor Dave & Tammy

Creamy Oatmeal with Honey and Nuts and Cinnamon (Add dried fruit when cooking or fresh fruit on top after served. I like to add blueberries when it's cooking and toward the end just before I take it off the stove. It seems the fruit flavor is enhanced throughout the oatmeal.

That actually sounds delicious! I wonder if you can use soy, almond or rice milk instead of the yogurt.... unless you found a dairy free/milk free yogurt. I know they exist, but haven't found one. If so, let us know where to get it! :)

Stir fry sauce~ 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, 2 tbsp soy sauce, juice of 1 lime,2-3 tbsp honey,2 cloves minced garlic, 2 pieces of ginger sliced thin, 2 tbsp seasame oil, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Mix everything but oil and pepper and heat to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer stirring occasionally until honey is dissolved. simmer until slightly syrupy.Slowly whisk in oil and pepper. May either use hot for sauce for stir fry or chill for dressing to a salad. Enjoy!

There is a spaghetti sauce that is daniel's fast friendly...Ragu sugar free and Ragu light. I use this with spaghetti squash. To make "spaghetti" cut in half and scoop out seeds, pierce the skin of the squash with a fork and microwave for 7 minutes...place on sheet pan cut side down. bake for 20 min at 350. with a fork start at one end of the squash and drag it to the other end...this brings strings of squash (which look like spaghetti) that's you base! saute some mushrooms, onions, peppers till tender, add the spaghetti sauce. spoon squash onto plate....add the spaghetti sauce and enjoy!

While smelling my muffins cooking in the oven this morning, I am reminded once again that I "do not live by bread alone" but "by the Word of God"! I love this fast! I love the fact that it, if we allow it to, helps us to get the proper perspective of food, health, and our spiritual journey! We should "eat to live" and not "live to eat". I know that I get so busy, that fast food is all too often an option for my family... and it's just not healthy. I am also reminded that a fast is to push us closer to our God! And that when we feel hungry, or have cravings, that our appetite should be re-directed to God! The Word says we should hunger and thirst after righteousness... we should crave the presense of our God!! Food is a strong desire... we must have it to live. ALL THE MORE, we should DESIRE OUR SAVIOR and LIVE the ABUNDANT LIFE HE DESIGNED FOR US TO LIVE! John 10:10 Praying for my church family! Comments are closed.
